New Zealand Falcon
Scientific Name: Falco novaeseelandiae
One of three birds of prey in the Styx Catchment, the New Zealand Falcon is thought to only have a very small number of individuals in the area.
That said, over the last few years falcons have been regularly sighted in the area between Lower Styx Road, Waitikiri Golfcourse and Bottle lake Forest.
